At this year’s Sea Otter Classic, there was no shortage of wild bikes, dream builds, and cutting-edge ideas—but one bike consistently stopped riders in their tracks inside the White Industries booth: the custom-built Sour Bicycles Pasta Party 32 with the newly launching White Industries T30 Titanium Cranks.
Built around the emerging 32-inch wheel platform and dressed with a carefully curated mix of premium components, the bike represented everything we love about modern mountain biking—innovation, craftsmanship, and individuality.
A Hardtail Built Around Big Ideas
The Pasta Party 32 isn’t simply a stretched version of Sour’s already-popular Pasta Party hardtail. This frame was purpose-built from the ground up to accommodate massive 32-inch wheels, creating a unique riding experience focused on rollover speed, momentum, and long-distance trail capability.
Constructed from custom-drawn, multi-butted Chromoly steel tubing, the frame blends modern geometry with the timeless ride feel only steel can deliver. Designed around a 100–120mm suspension fork with clearance for 32 x 2.4” tires, the Pasta Party 32 pushes the boundaries of what a modern hardtail can be.
The result is a bike that looks futuristic while still feeling deeply rooted in classic mountain bike culture.
Rolling on Astral 32-Inch Wheels
A build like this starts with the wheels, and the new 32-inch rims from Astral Cycling delivered the perfect foundation.
The oversized wheel platform offers incredible rollover characteristics, smoothing out rocks, roots, and rough terrain while carrying speed effortlessly through technical sections. Seeing the bike in person immediately highlighted just how proportional and intentional the platform feels when paired with a frame specifically designed around the wheel size.
Wrapped around those wheels were the ever-fast and race-proven Vittoria Peyote tires, bringing a lightweight and fast-rolling tread pattern to the build. The Peyote’s low-profile center tread and predictable cornering characteristics made it a fitting choice for a bike aimed at endurance riding, adventure, and aggressive XC terrain.
Premium Details from White Industries
Of course, no bike in the booth would be complete without a full spread of beautifully machined components from White Industries.
The build featured White Industries’ new titanium cranks, paired with their signature hubs and drivetrain components, all tying together the boutique aesthetic and performance-first philosophy behind the project.
The brushed finishes, precision machining, and timeless design language matched the Sour frame perfectly. Every detail felt intentional—premium without being flashy, technical without losing personality.
